+ strawberry rhubarb poppy seed buckwheat porridge (vegan, gluten free, refined sugar free) +

Beware! This bowl of goodness is SUPERCHARGED. Literally everything in it is beneficial for your health, especially your bones. It is vegan, gluten-free and refined sugar free. I'd been having a huge mug of chai and/or just fruit for breakfast lately. I like to change things up a little in the weekend though, because I can spend a little more time in the kitchen. I got my hands on a few stalks of gorgeously pink rhubarb.  For some odd reason I was craving tart through the whole weekend so this dish definitely hit the spot. Strawberries are becoming sweeter and more flavorful as we're approaching May, so I thought these two would make the perfect classic combo to top a creamy porridge on a Saturday morning. Don't you agree?

+ recycling tips in celebration of earth day +

While everyone's been busy visiting relatives and eating to their heart's content around Easter, let us not forget that there is another thing to celebrate around this time of year. April 22nd should represent an important cause globally. The modern world we live in today is so out of balance. People got used to living so conveniently that they often do not realize that their lifestlye comes with a price. Sadly, their children may have to be the ones to pay. I do believe that we could make a big difference together, if we lived just a little more consciously.

+ new beginning (free printable easter cards) +

It's been a while since I was as full of excitement around Easter time as I am these days. All holidays seem to be a bit over-commercialized anyway, and that's usually enough to take away most of the magic for me. This time I am hyped up not because I am hosting a big party, neither have I had a big revelation about the meaning of Easter - I like to see myself somewhat of a spiritual person, but I am far from religious.
To get to the point, the reason I am excited is that I get to have a fresh start. I have decided that I will do more of the things that make me feel whole. I will release my creative energy in ways I thought I'd never have the time for and I refuse to sink into monotony. I will spread the little knowledge I have gathered in my close to 26 years of life in the hope that it benefits someone in the world. All those clichés are true: ultimately, we are here to celebrate life, to create, to see beauty everywhere, to live in the present moment and be fully aware of our surroundings. Let this serve as platform for my musings.
